"We wanted to create a brand that would promote the wealth of our territories and our coastline while defending the circular economy. Shell glasses were an obvious choice. They reflect our creativity and commitment while inviting the consumer to take a new look at our lifestyles and consumption patterns," explains Sandrine Guyot, co-founder of Friendly Frenchy.

It's a view that has long since changed for the entrepreneur, whose family had a factory producing buttons and mother-of-pearl items that disappeared with the advent of plastics.
With his partner Laurent Pezé, they turned their gaze to the sea and its co-products (oyster, mussel and scallop shells).

For them, it's zero oil and the recovery of food waste above all! The sunglasses frames are therefore made on bio-sourced, recycled bases and marine by-products.
Innovative, the materials are developed with specialised laboratories.

The brand supported by BPI is also starting a new R&D programme in partnership with ADEME (the French Environment and Energy Management Agency). And to manufacture the glasses, there is nothing like the French eyewear basin.

"We wanted to create and develop products that resemble us and carry our commitment and values, while conveying a French art of living," explains Sandrine Guyot.

DID YOU KNOW THAT?
Friendly Frenchy makes the glasses for the Vendée Globe.
