They wanted to create an innovative and eco-responsible product...

Laurent Pezé and Sandrine Guyot have launched Friendly Frenchy, their brand of shell glasses.

A new concept where aesthetics meets ecology and which has just been awarded the Oscar du Morbihan.
It comes from the world of innovation and sustainable development. He comes from the world of creation and event gastronomy.

From their meeting was born Friendly Frenchy, a brand of shell glasses. How did they meet? Simply because Sandrine Guyot and Laurent Pezé both wanted a new concept, combining their skills and the seaside, all within the framework of an environmental approach.
With this complementary perspective, they embarked on the adventure of creating a company in 2016. It took them three years to set up such an innovative concept. "We started from the premise that shellfish is a natural, renewable and recyclable source, but not at all valorised.
As for the choice of product? What could be more stamped on the seaside than sunglasses? An accessory that can be used for any occasion and in any season," explain the designers.

The short, "made in France" circuit still had to set up the manufacturing process and find the companies likely to meet the requirements of the new regulations.
requirements of the creative duo.

It was in the Jura and the Ain that they met the right interlocutors and efficient partners. "There is still a certain amount of know-how here, which must be preserved at all costs. We wanted short circuits and made in France, to avoid a too important carbon footprint but also for quality. We had to develop a recovery route with the oyster farmers and fishermen, a specific product based on recycled shells, call on the latest French frame moulder and design the models".
Friendly Frenchy (friendly and French... with an Anglo-Saxon touch to eventually target the international market).
Because, even if Sandrine and Laurent were not born in Brittany, Brittany and the sea are an integral part of their project and their origins nevertheless link them to our region. With a grandfather from Morbihan for her and a passion for sailing born on the Ria d'Etel for him, after a studious passage in Paris, the two creators could only set down their suitcases in Alréenne.
Breton lobster, Locmariaquer clam, Penestin mussel...
Today, the company is growing rapidly. A delicate phase but one that Sandrine and Laurent have mastered.
They offer two ranges of products with evocative names... Breton lobster, Locmariaquer clam, Pénestin mussel, shellfish and crustaceans... Depending on whether it is a handmade product or a more "industrial" one, the price ranges from 80 € to 250 €.

But one thing is certain, the pair of glasses is always unique, high quality, light and pleasant to wear. It comes with a personalised chamois designed by Anne Rouat

a Breton illustrator.

A sign of good health for the company, Sandrine and Laurent are thinking of taking their first job soon. And what about promotion? Sandrine assures with humour: "We wear our creation on the tip of our nose and it's our best advertisement! ».
