FASHION NETWORK: Friendly Frenchy launches a line of shell-based glasses

The made in France Friendly Frenchy brand, launched in June 2017 by Sandrine Guyot and Laurent Pezé, will this summer complete its beachwear offer with a range of sunglasses with frames made in France from vegetable oil and shells.

The frames are made in Normandy from shells from the hexagonal coastline. Friendly Frenchy Currently in the middle of the Ulule campaign, the Friendly Frenchy label had previously made a name for itself with a range of patterned t-shirts designed by the Nantes-based duo The Feebles and produced in France, beach sheets in honeycomb cotton, surfing accessories made in the Basque country and even brooches made from sustainable MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard).

This offer is now complemented by two unisex eyewear models, available from 80 to 115 euros in 18 different colours, with fashion, sports or polarised lenses. Eco-responsible and local glasses that will be exhibited at the Francofolies de la Rochelle festival, the Surf Rider Foundation and the next MIF Expo Made in France show which will be held in November at the Porte de Versailles.

"We worked with the food industry for the shellfish," explains Sandrine Guyot. "We are going to be present in ten shops this summer, in the Morbihan, Nantes, Rennes, Bordeaux, Biarritz, Annecy and Paris. They are mainly concept stores and independent shops, but we will also be at three opticians', the objective being to develop and work on this distribution network", announces the co-founder of this young brand.
