LE FIGARO - Friendly Frenchy, glasses made of shells

This clever idea is matched by the aesthetics of a simple but elegant frame that comes in two unisex models with rather classic shapes. "We arrived like UFOs with our concept: no oil, shells, quality lenses and recycled packaging, all made in France," explain the founders, who only betrayed their 100% tricolour commitment by choosing an English name, Friendly Frenchy, for their brand. Commercial realism no doubt, ambition to spread French know-how internationally, surely.

It is in the Plastics Vallée jurassienne that their creations are made in 18 colours. The category 3 glasses are supplied by the company Dalloz Créations, based in Saint-Claude, which has been known for almost forty years for its top-of-the-range products. Entrusted to a Nantes-based studio, The Feebles, the packaging includes a microfibre pouch and a recycled cardboard box printed with vegetable-based inks. The first pairs were successfully presold in May thanks to a crowdfunding campaign launched on Ulule. Delivery is scheduled for the end of June. This summer, it's clear, the trend is to make a splash with these eco-responsible glasses that cast a benevolent eye on our many French talents.

Friendly Frenchy, from 80 to 115 € per pair (Friendlyfrenchy.fr).
